Arc’teryx Hosts Virtual Backcountry Academy

Arc’teryx Hosts Virtual Backcountry Academy

Last winter, Powder Cloud attended the Arc’teryx Backcountry Academy in Jackson, Wyo. We found it to be an extremely valuable and fun event that we’d recommend it to all levels of backcountry skiers. (Read the article here.) This year, Arc’teryx restructured the event in a virtual format. Though it’s impossible to replicate the Academy online, they did a wonderful job and it’s well worth exploring.

The virtual event is a collection of clinics, podcasts, educational resources, panel discussions, and some inspiring films that will expand your skill sets and further your education in a variety of disciplines. The event was last week, yet most of the content has been made available. Most are free, yet a few, like the clinics, require a fee.

Support education and mentoring for all backcountry riders

We have a favor to ask of our backcountry community. Powder Cloud believes our educational content and journalism should be easily accessible to all backcountry riders. A majority of our content is free, and we strive to limit annoying distractions like blinking ads, paywalls and pop-up screens.

We need your support to sustain the work we and our contributors provide, and to help us develop new and exciting ways to educate our community.

With as little as $5, you can help our mission—to provide backcountry skiers and riders the mentorship they require to travel safely and find the happiness. It only takes a minute and we’re so grateful and appreciate you.
