Powder Cloud Likes: Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Skirt
Sure, backcountry skier girls get all sweaty and pee in the woods. But that doesn’t mean we don’t like to look cute doing it. Enter the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Skirt, which may be my favorite accessory ever for its mixture of function and fun.
First, the function. When the nostril-searing cold front makes your “breathable” layers “freezable,” this little number will bring the heat with its 800-fill packable down. It zips on and off completely so you can put it on while wearing skis and boots, fits roomily enough over your pants so you can skin and ski, packs down into its own pocket, and weighs nearly nothing. It’s also nice to have an additional layer you don’t have to take off your pack or jacket to put on.
It’s also perfect for hut-trips, breakfast preparations, gear-sorting, commuting, après sessions, or walking the dog. Slide it on over your long undies or yoga pants for a cute (and warm) coverup.
It is, of course, expensive—$200—but we think your cute backcountry butt is worth it.
