Avalanche Canada Adds New Forecast Region

When you log onto avalanche.ca this winter you’ll notice they’ve expanded forecast coverage to include the northern Rockies region.

According to an Edmonton Sun article, the region was a priority for Avalanche Canada, because it’s frequently used, primarily by snowmobilers, and has a challenging snowpack. Nine people have died in avalanches over the past five winters in the region.
